A couple of weeks after the closing of seeds; Sara, Jason, and I did contemplative movement together in three distinct environments: a windy beach, a packed nightclub, and my grandmother's house. We each wrote about the experience, and now share them here for further cross-pollination.

Contemplative Movement in the field:

While the workshops that I took at SEEDS provided a plethora of tools and fuel for further exploration, the regular contemplative movement sessions initiated me into practice that I could immediately incorporate into life outside. Quarry Performance writing

During Dancing with Forest, the Interdisciplinary project directed by Terre Parker and Kate Bailey, we spent many hours at the quarry, observing, experimenting, and sourcing from the site. This led to the creation of a group score and performance. my notes from Jennifer Monson's workshop. Day 1:

Walking in silence to a place near the stream, off the path, wet ground, cool bare feet, sunny in patches, shadow. She instructs us to take a little walk, find an object/ tree rock ground etc. and begin a duet, sensing the internal spaces of the object and ourselves.
